Direct Mail
Oxfam’s Christmas Appeal
The work
I partnered with a copywriter to create Oxfam’s Christmas 2020 direct mail pack, focusing on Climate, Conflict, and Covid-19. My role encompassed concept development, content curation, as well as the final design, and artwork for print.
Our approach
We navigated the challenging juxtaposition of Christmas joy and hard-hitting content by centering the pack around a theme of peace. Designed to feel personal, the pack featured a simple, greeting-card-style envelope and hand-crafted elements such as handwritten fonts, stamps, and a handwritten Christmas card (produced by Oxfam’s ethical and sustainable partner). The chosen stories struck a balance between need, community action, and hope.

Islamic Relief’s
Pre-Ramadan Direct Mail
The work
Leveraging Islamic Relief’s Ramadan branding, I designed a visually engaging and cohesive direct mail pack. This included an outer envelope, a double-sided letter, a dua book engagement piece, and a donation form featuring an online shop promotion on the reverse.
My approach
The pack was designed to be visually immersive and uplifting, using warm imagery, bright colors, and starry elements to evoke spirituality and generosity in the lead-up to Ramadan. Eye contact in the outer imagery fosters an immediate connection, encouraging recipients to open the pack. The focus story imagery highlights Maudha’s strength, hope, and community work, while the close-up, side-facing portraits in the supporting testimonials feel natural and authentic. Islamic Relief’s signature blue dominates the palette, complemented by yellow highlights to draw the eye and inspire joy and optimism.
